So a little while ago I decided to sell an original Walking Dead page that I purchased long before it became a hit comic (longer before it became a hit TV show). It was the perfect page, one of two moments in comics that I can vividly remember having a strong reaction to while reading. Thankfully I was able to get it from Tony Moore back then, because his work (especially TWD) is extremely hard to come by.
I have mixed feelings about re-selling art (I would never flip a sketch that was done for me, but a page purchased seems more like a commodity that is fair to change hands). Needless to say, letting go of a "holy grail" page like this was a pretty tough decision, but it seems like now is the time. I'll always have the memory, but cashing in now allows me to (hopefully) put money into producing a new comic project of my own.
Tonight the auction hit $10k (with three days remaining), hopefully climbing much higher as it wraps up. I doubt anybody reading this is such a fan or has the disposable income to drive that up, but I certainly don't mind if the word gets spread by sharing the link below.
